Books

When my son was first diagnosed, I felt like we were handed a puzzle with half the pieces missing and no picture to even guide us. We quickly hit a brick wall with the conventional medical model: we had to wait six weeks after stopping steroids just to take the Cunningham Panel, then wait several more weeks for the results, followed by months on a waitlist for IVIG or plasmapheresis.  Meanwhile, my son’s symptoms were on the most severe end of the spectrum. We were living with constant rage, aggression, and destruction. It felt like a war zone inside our own home. Waiting months for help simply wasn’t going to work for me or my family.  We needed help.

So, I did what any Type A mom would do: I dove headfirst into research. I devoured every book I could get my hands on, listened to hours and hours of podcasts and webinars, and became relentless in my search for answers. I was desperate to understand what was happening and what we could do.

These books didn’t just give me knowledge, they gave me hope. They helped me understand the science behind what was happening in my child’s body and offered practical, real-world strategies I could implement at home, right away. Whether you’re just starting out on this journey or you’re deep in the trenches, these resources will help you make sense of your child’s condition and offer guidance on how to support their healing.
