Hello

Welcome! I thought this site would take four to six months to build. It ended up taking sixteen months… Mold will do that. So will parenting multiple children with PANS and PANDAS.

By nature, I’m an introvert.  Building a website and writing a blog was never on my to-do list.  But I felt a calling to do it.

Every day in parent support groups, I see families who are barely hanging on. Children in terrifying, unrecognizable states. Parents in medical free-fall. I’ve lived it. I know what it’s like when your living room feels like a war zone. When you’re scared to go to sleep, scared to wake up, scared to hope.

We spent three years and saw four providers. Still no answers.  The conventional medical model failed us.  We were in crisis, and no help was coming to save us.  Like many parents before me, I had to start figuring it out myself.

That’s why I built Finding the Next Right Thing.

This site exists for other parents dealing with PANS, PANDAS, Lyme, co-infections, mold, and the whole messy, confusing ecosystem that surrounds these conditions. I’ve leaned hard into biology, herbalism, root cause medicine, and clinical research.  Here, you’ll find breakdowns by system:  detox, gut health, hormones, immune regulation, root causes, and herbal tools backed by science. I’m a parent first, but parenting in crisis mode meant learning the language of mitochondria and microglia.

The site is built to help you build traction faster, so your child can heal faster. I hope you find something useful.

It’s also here to spread awareness.   If this site can help even one child get the right support sooner, it’s worth it.  Because every child deserves a childhood.

I’ll share our story along the way, but for now, just know this space is built with heart, research, and the deepest respect for what you’re carrying.

Please be kind. I’m a real mom whose son lost years of childhood to PANDAS.  Maybe just like yours. I don’t pretend to have all the answers. But I want to share what I’ve learned, so you can get up to speed faster, and with more focus, that I did.

Healing is coming.  Some days it’s a leap, some months are a crawl, and sometimes it’s two steps back. But healing will come, one next right thing after another.

With you,

Brooke
